St. Florian is a town in Lauderdale County whose municipal office uses a Florence mailing address. That is a useful reminder that postal names and town jurisdiction are different things. If your home plans include construction or you are simply arranging a gathering in the park, start with St. Florian’s own office and the particular task—not an assumption that Florence handles it.

Map sources and notes
Where do I begin with plans for a new building?
The town’s Building Department page asks new-construction applicants to bring a set of plans for inspector review before a permit is issued. For other permits it directs applicants to Town Hall, and inspections are arranged through 256-767-3690. Submitting plans and scheduling an inspection are different steps; neither should be treated as approval of an unreviewed project.
The official contact page lists 83 Saint Florian Road, Florence, AL 35630, with office hours Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Bring the property address and parcel reference when asking which requirements apply. The Florence postal address on Town Hall’s own page does not turn it into a Florence city office.
For a purchase involving a proposed addition, workshop or other improvement, describe the intended work before committing to a design. The town links zoning and other ordinances from its building page; have the responsible office confirm the current applicable requirements rather than interpreting a map outline as permission to build.
Does an annexation application prove that land is already in town?
No. The town’s annexation page gives an application route through Town Hall and asks for a copy of the current deed if available. It is an invitation to apply, not a record that a particular parcel has been annexed or a promise of services. Ask the town to establish the current status of the actual property.
The 2024 boundary map above provides orientation, not the latest annexation record. Keep three questions separate: where the parcel is now, which office handles a proposed project and what each utility can provide. An answer to one does not settle the other two.
What does reserving a park pavilion actually reserve?
The Park and Walking Trail page links the town’s pavilion reservation agreement. It states that the rental is for the pavilion only; the park remains public. The form distinguishes Pavilion A, closest to the restroom and parking lot, from Pavilion B. Choose the actual space rather than invite guests to an unspecified “park rental.”
The agreement linked by the town, with September 3, 2026 in its filename, publishes the following distinctions. Use them to understand the quote, then confirm the current terms for your date:
| Published item | Agreement terms |
|---|---|
| Pavilion rental | $20 per hour or $75 for an eight-hour day; time beyond eight hours is $20 per hour |
| Damage deposit | $25, required for each rental and paid separately |
| Water-related activities | $25 water-usage charge |
| Card payment | 4.5% processing fee |
| Cancellation by the renter | Full refund with notice at least 14 days before the event; no refund with less notice |
| Town cancellation or weather | Full refund if the town cancels or inclement weather prevents the event |
The linked form prohibits overnight camping and decorations such as water balloons or confetti that cannot be gathered into the trash cans. It requires damage deposits to be picked up within 30 days of the rental. Plan the cleanup and deposit follow-through alongside food and invitations, not after the event has passed.
Read the complete agreement and obtain the town’s current quote and confirmation before committing funds. The form’s choice of pavilion and proximity note does not establish a step-free route or a particular guest’s access needs; describe the route and facilities you need when arranging the space.
Which property questions deserve a closer look?
The Florence and Lauderdale flood-map and building-check guide separates the parcel, actual building and proposed improvement. Use it to organize the records, then confirm the responsible jurisdiction rather than applying Florence city requirements automatically to St. Florian.
The Lauderdale County guide connects school and county-record handoffs. I can help compare homes around the routines and future plans that matter to you, with the town and relevant professionals confirming the property-specific answers.
