Hollywood – Jackson County

Hollywood is a town in Jackson County, Alabama—not the Florida city or the California neighborhood. Two practical questions here deserve their own planning: what happens to material from a yard cleanup, and what a community-park rental actually includes. I would settle both before setting a work date or sending invitations, because neither is simply a matter of putting something on the calendar.

Hollywood: town boundary from the 2024 U.S. Census Bureau, with the same boundary highlighted in a Northern Alabama locator inset. North is up. Editorial area: Appalachian Foothills. Not a property or service-boundary map.

Will the town take a mixed pile from a home cleanout?

No. The town’s Street Department page distinguishes limited vegetation collection from household trash. It describes cleanup in the first two weeks of April and the last two weeks of October, for limbs, brush and similar material that one employee can lift manually. It excludes large pieces and bags of grass or leaves.

The same page says the town does not provide trash pickup and will not collect furniture, household refuse, man-made material or remodeling debris left by the road. Keep those materials out of a vegetation pile and arrange the appropriate disposal separately. Do not interpret the town’s limited service as the absence of any other waste provider at a home.

These are published recurring instructions on an undated page, not a confirmed pickup appointment. With the October window ending at the time of this review, contact the town before placing material out or assuming a truck will return. Ask about the actual address, material and current arrangement; do not leave a pile indefinitely because an older page names the season.

Who handles a street concern or cleanup question?

The street page routes needed street repairs, street-light outages and other concerns to the town clerk at 256-259-4845. The town’s government page gives 29164 U.S. Highway 72, Hollywood, AL 35752 as its physical contact address. That is a different destination from the park.

When reporting a concern, give the location and describe what needs attention. For a home project, keep debris removal, road access and any building approval as separate questions. A conversation about brush collection does not authorize construction or establish that a contractor’s waste is accepted.

Where is the community park, and what can I reserve?

The Community Park page lists 6759 County Road 33, Hollywood, AL 35752. It describes a community center, covered pavilion, playground and walking trail, with the center and pavilion available for personal gatherings. The page asks applicants to print, complete and bring the linked rental agreement.

The town’s published rental agreement gives the distinctions below. The form has no printed effective date and sits in a 2016 upload path, so confirm the current price and terms with the clerk before committing funds.

Published agreement item What it means for the plan
$50 per event for the pavilion and/or community center Specify the space and event time, then obtain current confirmation
Refund wording The form says fees are nonrefundable unless cancellation is prior to 10 days before the event; clarify the exact deadline when booking
Playground, walking trail and bathrooms These remain open to the public; the renter cannot exclude other visitors
Fridge or microwave The application asks whether you need them; identify the need in the reservation

The park rules also require cleanup, removal of decorations and food, and returning tables and chairs to their original arrangement. They prohibit fireworks and motorized vehicles in the park or on the trail except motorized wheelchairs. Include cleanup time in your plan rather than treat the end of the gathering as the end of your responsibility.

How does this help compare homes in Hollywood?

Think about the outdoor space you want to maintain and the places where you would host visitors, then connect those preferences with the actual property. A larger yard may change your disposal plan; a nearby park does not guarantee that a building is available for your date.

Use the Jackson County guide for the broader property-record and school-system handoffs. I can help organize a home shortlist around those priorities while the town, district and providers confirm the address-specific details.
