Dodge City – Cullman County

A visit to Dodge City can combine a county errand with a look at a public park, but the offices and facilities at Town Hall do different jobs. Before planning a stop or booking a gathering, separate the county revenue counter, the town’s rental arrangements and ordinary park use. The published rental prices currently disagree, which makes a written quote particularly worthwhile.

Which office is inside Dodge City Town Hall?

The Cullman County Revenue Commissioner’s contact page places its Dodge City satellite inside Town Hall at 130 Howard Circle, Hanceville, AL 35077. It explicitly explains that Hanceville is the mailing address; the office is physically in Dodge City Town Hall, not Hanceville City Hall.

Purpose Published contact or arrangement
County revenue satellite 256-287-3200; 8 a.m.–4 p.m., closed noon–12:30 p.m.; check or credit card only
Town and community-center reservation questions 256-287-0364, the town’s published reservation contact

The town’s facilities page places the courthouse annex in the west wing and lists vehicle and boat registration, property-tax and license-renewal services. Describe the exact transaction before traveling so the office can confirm what it can complete and what you need to bring. Satellite closing notices may be posted locally; the county contact page remains the starting point for the counter’s current arrangements.

Where can I take a short park break?

Perry Ray Park is directly behind Town Hall. The town lists a playground, pavilion, concrete walking track, restrooms, an outdoor classroom and a creek. That gives a newcomer a concrete public place to explore rather than only a road name on a map. The pavilion has its own reservation link; do not assume an ordinary park visit reserves that space for a gathering.

What does renting the community center cost?

The center is in Town Hall’s basement. Two town-published sources give different prices, so the numbers below are a comparison of the posted information, not a current booking quote.

Town source What it currently says
Facilities webpage $75 per day, with an additional $75 if the renter does not handle cleanup
Linked community-center contract $110 plus a $75 cleaning/damage deposit: $185 initially; the $75 is returned if the center is cleaned and undamaged
Profit-making rental in that same contract $250 plus a $150 cleaning deposit: $400 initially; the $150 is returned if cleaned and undamaged

The linked contract has no stated effective date. It also requires the responsible signer to be over 18, prohibits tobacco and alcohol, and assigns cleanup and key-return responsibilities. Before committing, ask the town which price and agreement apply to your event, what is refundable and whether cleanup is your responsibility. Keep that written answer with the reservation; do not combine the webpage’s lower base rate with the contract’s deposit terms as though they were one offer.

How can I connect with a recurring community activity?

The town events page describes a Tuesday 9:30 a.m. food-and-games gathering for senior citizens of Dodge City and the surrounding community. The recurring notice is undated, so contact the town about the next gathering and participation arrangements before making a first trip. It is a useful lead for a routine, not a dated guarantee that every Tuesday session will proceed.

Keep an event plan separate from a weather plan

A center reservation does not establish that a shelter will be open when needed. For the separate questions of opening triggers, travel planning and pet arrangements, read the Cullman County storm-shelter planning guide. For broader community and property research, the Cullman County guide provides the next geographic step.

Plan one visit around the right purpose

Use the county counter for its confirmed transaction, the park for a look at everyday public space and the town office for a gathering agreement. If a community-center event is part of your plans, resolve the fee discrepancy before budgeting or reserving. Those distinctions make a first visit more productive and help you assess the routines that would matter after a move.
