Spruce Pine – Franklin County

Spruce Pine is an unincorporated community and Census-designated place in Franklin County, Alabama. It is not a municipal government, and it is not the North Carolina town with the same name. A useful first look here can connect community history with today’s practical questions: which event or building you mean, which map you are reading and who handles the road or property question.

Is Spruce Pine Day an everyday opening schedule?

No. The Franklin County Chamber’s dated Spruce Pine Day listing announced October 17, 2026, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Spruce Pine Community Center. That date is past as of this review. The listing is useful context for the community gathering, not evidence that the building or museum is open whenever you arrive.

For event and vendor questions, that listing gives 256-460-5276. Its separate venue record gives 256-460-0524 and 9300 County Road 22, Spruce Pine, AL 35585. Confirm the meeting point and current arrangements before traveling. Other directories may use a different nearby address for a different purpose; keep the actual event’s instructions with your plan.

The Chamber’s festival background page traces the gathering to a community chicken stew in 1999 and connects it with the Spruce Pine Museum. That is a good starting question for a local-history visit. It does not supply a year-round museum timetable or a confirmed date for next year’s festival.

What can an older map tell me about the community?

The Alabama Department of Archives and History catalogs a 1947 quadrangle map of Spruce Pine created by the U.S. Geological Survey. The digital record has separate front and back images. Open the front for the mapped landscape rather than stop at a search result labeled “Back.”

An older topographic sheet can be a satisfying way to frame a history question about roads, streams or place names. Keep the date beside your notes. It is not the current CDP outline, a parcel survey, proof that a road remains public or permission to enter land. The Census boundary map on this page answers a different geographic question, and neither replaces current property records.

What you are looking at What it can help with What it does not establish
Dated Spruce Pine Day listing The announced event, contact and destination Everyday building access or a future event booking.
1947 USGS quadrangle Historical landscape questions Current road status, parcel boundaries or access rights.
2024 Census CDP map The statistical community outline Town government, school assignment or utility coverage.

Who can help with a road question near a property?

The Franklin County directory lists the Highway Department/County Engineer at 256-332-8434. Give the actual road and location and ask who is responsible; a Spruce Pine address does not prove county maintenance of every road or driveway. Keep road responsibility separate from private access and title questions.

How does this fit a home search?

The Franklin County guide provides property-record, school and service-provider handoffs. Bring the parcel reference and intended use when asking about a home or lot; a community-center destination is not a service-area marker.

If you want a different way to explore the wider county, the Bear Creek lakes guide separates reservoirs and named public access points. I can help you compare the ordinary drives and places that matter to you, while the responsible offices establish the property-specific answers. Use the relocation guide to keep those questions in a workable move plan.
