Priceville – Morgan County

A useful Priceville visit can pair an ordinary library stop with a park walk, then turn to the household details that matter after the move. Priceville is in Morgan County, but a city address does not make water, power, wastewater and garbage one service. Use this guide to separate the everyday routine from the account, collection and project decisions.

Priceville: city boundary from the 2024 U.S. Census Bureau, with the same boundary highlighted in a Northern Alabama locator inset. North is up. Editorial area: Greater Huntsville. Not a property or service-boundary map.

When would a library stop fit my week?

The city’s Living Here page lists Linda Duran Public Library hours as 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. It closes for lunch from 1–2 p.m. and is closed on weekends. That midday break matters if you intend to combine a quick library task with errands; the outer opening hours are not continuous availability.

The same city page links the library’s own updates. Use those for holiday changes and the service you need; the municipal listing does not establish borrowing-card eligibility, computer availability or a booked room. For a weekend-oriented public outing, the Veterans Park visit and reservation guide answers the separate park question. It distinguishes using a public facility from reserving space and keeps a dated event separate from everyday access.

Which household services need separate answers?

Priceville’s Public Works directory lists both Northeast Morgan County Water and Decatur Utilities for water, and both Joe Wheeler EMC and Decatur Utilities for electricity. This is a provider directory, not a parcel-level coverage map. Identify each provider for the specific home rather than assuming one nearby bill or city name settles every service.

The Wastewater page separates a sewer application/service agreement from a sewer tap permit. A new account at an already connected home and work to establish a connection are different requests. The city accepts the completed account form through its stated office or email process; billing questions go to 256-355-5476, extension 135. Send personal documents only through the responsible provider’s process, not a general home-search message.

Wastewater payments have their own online and bank-draft options, plus telephone, mail and in-person routes. The city lists an after-hours drop box at the Municipal Building, 242 Marco Drive, Priceville, AL 35603. A payment method does not establish a new connection or confirm capacity; settle that question before relying on sewer service in a purchase or building plan.

Why does the cleanup calendar matter before a move?

The Public Works page describes household garbage as weekly Morgan County Environmental collection, billed on the utility bill, with questions directed to 256-773-3887. Residential large-item collection follows a different calendar: the last Monday of January, April, July and October, with items out by 7 a.m. That quarterly schedule should not become a promise of next-week removal.

If a seller needs unwanted items gone before possession, arrange an appropriate confirmed option rather than count on a future collection day. Describe the material and quantity to the responsible service before setting it out. Do not apply Decatur’s collection arrangements to Priceville simply because the two places are part of the same home search.

What belongs in the project timeline before work begins?

Priceville’s Building Department instructions require application and blueprint approval before work begins. Applications are normally submitted in person; the page gives a 9 a.m.–4 p.m. weekday application window, even though general municipal office hours extend to 5 p.m. Call 256-355-5476, extension 0, if you cannot submit in person.

Project step Published distinction Use it in the plan
Prepare the application Show property lines, existing structures and the proposed addition’s dimensions and distances. Bring the actual parcel and project, not only a listing photo.
Separate the work Sewer and natural-gas permits are separate applications. Ask which approvals apply to each part of the job.
Schedule inspection The city requires 24 hours’ notice. Include inspection sequencing in the contractor’s work plan.

The page lists code editions and fees alongside its 2026 application link. Those should be resolved for the actual project with the building office, not copied here as a universal quote or DIY installation instruction. A home’s apparent space for an addition does not settle setbacks, service connection or approval.

Build a shortlist around the week you will actually live

Use the Morgan County guide for the property-record and school-system handoffs, including the district’s current enrollment route. The Decatur guide and Hartselle guide offer separate community routines to compare, not interchangeable service rules. Test your actual work journey with the commute planning guide instead of turning a general city travel-time claim into a promise for every house.
