A short woodland boardwalk reaches the Beaverdam Creek swamp within Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge. This is a particular refuge trail, separate from the visitor center in Decatur.

Plan your visit

FWS locates the half-mile trail off Old Highway 20, south and west of the County Line Road interchange with I-565. Its June 2022 notice documents a rebuilding and reopening, not a promise of present conditions. Check refuge notices before traveling.
